Photo 1
I selected this photo because I liked the lighting and how he was doing something other than standing there posing for the photo. Compositionally, there is positive and negative space because of his hand touching his face, there then a similar negative space in Eric’s hand. Also there is rule of thirds shown by the negative space above Eric’s head. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/200 for shutter speed and f/22 for aperture/depth of field.
Photo 2
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is shape. There is also rule of thirds seen in the horizon and the binoculars. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the exposure and levels, I also added a white layer and turned the opacity down. The camera was set to cloudy for white balance. This photo communicates the human effects on Nature shown in the construction barge blocking the water and natural view.
Photo 3
What I like about this photo is the leading line of the dock to the horizon and the moss hanging from the tree and the moss on the dock. My point of view was straight on while standing on the end of the dock. The photo follows the rule of thirds by the dock on the line of the third and the horizon. The depth of field is f/22. The ISO was set to 200 and the White Balance was cloudy.
Photo 4
I selected this photo because I liked how white everything is with the contrast of the brown trees. Compositionally, there is positive and negative space between the trees. Also there is leading lines in the trees and the ski tracks. To take this photo I had the camera set on 1/200 for shutter speed and f/22 for aperture/depth of field.
Photo 5
Looking at this photo, the compositional element that is most apparent is texture. There is also leading lines. When I edited this photo, I adjusted the exposure and levels, I also played with the saturation. The camera was set to sunny for white balance because there was lots of natural lighting. This photo makes you think of the life lived by the wealthy few.
Photo 6
What I like about this photo is the leading line of the glass and walls, I also like how the reflection of the people is visible. My point of view was straight on while standing on the end of the hall.. The depth of field is f/22. The ISO was set to 200 and the White Balance was cloudy.
